Linux Kernel 4.0.7 Is a Small Release with Updated Drivers, ARM Improvements

Linux on ARMOn the last days of June, Greg Kroah-Hartman announced the availability of several maintenance releases for the Linux kernels 4.1, 4.0, 3.14, and 3.10. The seventh point release of Linux kernel 4.0 is a small one that brings mostly updated drivers.

Looking at the changelog, we can notice that Linux kernel 4.0.7 adds a few improvements to the ARM, x86, and PowerPC architectures, and updates several drivers, especially for things like Bluetooth, InfiniBand, GPU, CLK, USB, MD, crypto, and networking.

Among some noteworthy changes, we can mention the addition of support for ATOL FPrint fiscal printers, support for 0489:e076 and 13d3:3474 AR3012 devices in the ath3k driver, support for the 14e4:4321 PCI dev with BCM4321 chipset in the b43 driver, as well as enhancements for the initalization of context state saves.
