  • Linux on ARMIn late 2017, Microsoft launched Windows 10 on ARM to let users run its operating system on the ARM processor-powered laptops, especially the ones powered by Snapdragon chips. The company also released a bunch of devices in partnership with OEMs like Asus, HP, and Lenovo, and marketed them as “Always Connected Devices.”

Every board and most parts are open source to let your easily repair it, or improve it by adapting the part to your own needs.

  • Linux on ARMA few years ago I acquired an HP Chromebook 11, which I talked about in an article on this site at that time. I talked about how I ran Linux software side-by-side with Chrome OS thanks to the likes of Crouton. Since then, the machine has had some basic use, and rather ironically, used as an offline machine, where I would use it for typing purposes mostly, being that the machine has a lovely keyboard and is very battery efficient.

PINEBOOK comes with 2GB RAM, 16 GB flash storage, a 11.6″ or 14″ display, and the usual ports you’d expect on such device.

If you happen to have a Tegra K1 Chromebook, it's possible to get Fedora 23 Linux running on there with a bit of hacking.

  • Linux on ARMOlimex Ltd is hoping to make it possible to sell a Do-It-Yourself laptop powered by a 64-bit ARM SoC. Olimex has been working on the OLinuXino OSHW Linux laptop that's an open-source ARM hardware design and would be powered by an Allwinner A64 64-bit SoC.

  • Linux on ARMA strange but tantalizing rumor coming out of France this week suggests that not only has Apple not given up plans to build an army of ARM-based Macs, but the company is actually marching onwards with these plans, possibly to surprise us next week with a major announcement at the WWDC opening keynote.

  • Linux on ARMBack in late 2010, Google announced a "Chromebook"—a low-cost, entry-level netbook that would run Google's own operating system, ChromeOS. Google's vision of ChromeOS, although based on Linux, basically would be a giant Web browser, with all the apps on the machine running in the browser. ChromeOS would be a nearly stateless computer, with all the user's apps based in Google's cloud, running the Google Apps suite.
