  • Linux on ARMIt's been a long time since we last wrote something about Ryan Finnie's unique Linux distribution, Finnix, but it would appear that it is pretty much alive and kicking as version 111 is now available for download.

  • Linux on ARMGateworks recently launched another Freescale i.MX6 board part of theur Ventana family with Vetana GW5220 single board computer with Freescalei .MX6 dual processor, HDMI out, Ethernet, and a PCIe slot that takes modules adding WiFi 802.11 b/g/n/a, 4G Wimax, and 3G (CDMA/GSM) connectivity, as well as other compatible PCIe modules.

  • Linux on ARMEmbedded World, which was held this week in Nuremberg, Germany, lacks the glamor and headlines of next week's Mobile World Congress in Barcelona. Yet, along with showing off the usual circuit boards, the show coincided with the debut of two interesting new system-on-chips that combine Linux-friendly ARM Cortex-A cores with microcontroller units (MCUs).

  • Linux on ARMCanonical has announced a version of Ubuntu specifically designed for IoT devices running Linux, with a low hardware requirements, and a new package manager called snappy, replacing apt-get for this version of Ubuntu, which provides simpler, faster, and more reliable updates, stronger security, and allows roll-backs in case something goes wrong.

  • Linux on ARMIn this month’s project update we will take a look at the ongoing FreeBSD 64-bit ARM port. AArch64 is the official name for the 64-bit ARM architecture, but it is also known as ARMv8 and arm64. The 64-bit ARM architecture is expected to find use in traditional server markets, in contrast to the embedded and mobile markets where 32-bit ARM is widely adopted.
